So why shop A Joyful Soul Fabrics vs. all the other online fabric shops out there?  Two words:  CUSTOMER SERVICE!  In my recent experience, customer focused shops are a dying breed, and it doesn't make sense!  My customer is why I am here doing what I love to do.  I am here to help and enjoy it!  If you have a question, you can either email me through the CONTACT link on our website or on our Facebook Page.

Here are a few cool things coming up soon at our shop:

You are the first know and you have the first opportunity to shop before we send out our newsletter on Wednesday!  End of Year Clearance sale, 40% OFF on select patterns, pre-cuts and fabrics!

SALT WATER ARRIVES!
Tula Pink's Salt Water arrives in our shop December 12!  Tula is the Rock Star of the Quilting World right now.  Her next quilting weight line is ocean inspired and very cool!

(My favorite quilt of Fall Quilt Market!  And not just cuz I'm a Navy Girl!  Go get the pattern for free!)

ART GALLERY FABRICS
PURE ELEMENTS SOLIDS
We now carry all 40 of the Pure Elements Solids by Art Gallery Fabrics.  Available in yardage, 1/2 yard bundles and we have color cards.

AND NOW FOR OUR GIVEAWAY!

The Pantone color of 2013 was just announced:

What's your opinion?  LOVE IT...DESPISE IT...I personally think it's a beautiful color but I would like to know why Pantone has the authority to pick the IT color of the year....and how do I get THAT job!?

Leave a comment here on our blog letting us know your thoughts on the 2013 Color of the Year.  Our winner will be chosen on December 15th at midnight.  Please make sure that if you are an anonymous poster, you give us your email address in your comment so we can contact you!

Our prize will be your choice of a 1/2 yard Pure Elements Solids bundle.  You can choose from Berry, Citrus, Water or Natural.  (Emerald is in the Water Bundle)  We WILL ship internationally.  Thank you so much for spending time with us today.  Now go check out the more than 150 other blogs participating and enter to win you some swag!

Personally not really into emerald, my favourite would be more of a teal colour!

I love the color, green is one of my favorite colors.

Alyce @ Blossom Heart Quilts said...

I love it! It's a beautiful, rich colour, which'd look fabulous with purples and pinks and blues... It does actually remind me of AGF's saturated fabrics!

Cheri said...

So pretty!

fenna said...

It's alright but I'm not sure why it's the color of the year! I would sooner have picked a deep, dark pink to be the color of the year :P

B Greene said...

Well - check out my last name - I can't be too sorry to have this be the year of "Greene" - ha ha! I really thought it would be a rich blue, so I was a bit surprised, but Emerald is growing on me!

terri flowerchild said...

Not my favorite color of green, but ok.

Mom2RyandSis said...

I think it is very pretty! Thanks for the chance to win!

Tracey @ The Peony Teacup said...

I absolutely LOVE Emerald. When Tangerine Tango was announced last year and everyone was asking "What colour would you have chosen if you could pick?" my answer was green! So I'm super happy :) And I would LOVE a chance to win one of those fabulous bundles - thanks for hosting!!

Laura said...

When I first read about the color choice for this year, I looked down and realized it was the same color as my shirt! I use a lot of greens in my quilting but not usually this one.

Elizabeth said...

I think it is a pretty color, but personally I would've picked turquoise!

Tracy said...

I love it! Green has been my all time favorite color since I was a very little girl and that was a long time ago. Besides Emerald is my birthstone! So it's a double love for me!

Amys Crafty Shenanigans said...

I am thrilled with emerald as the colour of the year! Any green is my fav but I especially love Emerald because it is my birthstone colour! Yay!
PS - SUPER giveaway!!

Rachelle said...

I prefer teals and peacocks, but emerald is ok. I'd choose the Citrus bundle

Mrs.Hearts said...

Hmm, Emerald is a fine color! I'd like the Berry Bundle, please! One can always use more pink!

Annalisa said...

I just bought a shirt that color yesterday. Love it!

Lyn said...

I like it!

Colleen said...

I think when the economy is seriously in trouble they pick more somber colors

Kate said...

I like Emerald but didn't think it would be the color of the year...I thought it would have been a shade of purple!

Lisa Marie said...

I like the Emerald, although I wouldn't say I'm crazy over it. I loved the Tangerine Tango when it was the IN color. I also wonder who was appointed king and gets to decide this. I like the Water bundle.

debbiekl said...

It wouldn't be my first choice of color, but I like it! The citris and water bundles are my favorites. Thanks!

tubilinha tiacarminha said...

Obrigada.

Lovely!

I love all vivid, jewel tones, and while I'm okay with Emerald, I couldn't really care less about what color Pantone says is (or isn't) the Color of the Year. pfft! :)

Alyce Rodriguez said...

Thanks for the giveaway! Green is my favorite color, so I love the color! Can't wait to incorporate it into a project for myself. wonderlandbyalyce(at)gmail(dot)com

Jo said...

I love Emerald, but then i love anything green...thank you!

quiltinggrammy said...

I think it is a colour that could grow on you although I would probably pass it up on first glance. With the right prints it would probably add some punch. I much prefer the Berry selection.

Ella said...

I like green, but I prefer greens with a tad more yellow to them.

Kathy MacKie said...

I'm a green person so Emerald falls deliciously into that category!

Judith said...

It's about time that they picked a green--any green. My preference would have been for a mossier green, but I'll happily settle for Emerald. Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity.

Tricia said...

I love this emerald color and all the Pantone spring colors!

Linda said...

I love the green! Such a bright color.

Kathleen said...

I love greens and this color looks like it would work well with many other colors! Thanks for the chance to win!

Rebecca said...

It's a pretty color, but I think it would be hard to match up.

Barbara @ Nähtante Quilts said...

I like emerald as a highlight on a quilt now and then, but I wouldn't make an emerald quilt. It's too cold.
But in combination with a range of greens and aquass and some solid it's fine for me.
Thanks for offering!

ThirdMargaret said...

Pantone's choice this year is okay. It's a pretty color (though I might have given it a different name!) but not my favorite shade of green. It will be interesting to see what the world of fashion and decoration does with it.

MareMare said...

I like the emerald! Usually I lean more towards aqua and turquoise but I think it's pretty.

Terry@ a quilting blog said...

Love Emerald (especially the gemstone LOL) Thanks for the sweet giveaway!

Kirsty Kennedy said...

I love the Emerald. Green has been my favourite colour this year.

Kirsten said...

I really love the Pantone colour choice! My favourite colour is green, and the Emerald shade is more of a teal colour which is even better! I think it will go fabulously with other cool colours, as well as orange, red and hot pink.

Leo said...

well my thoughts - I won't be buying any clothing nor any other thing inspired by the curretn colour trend. That is a urghh colour (sorry) but it's neither green nor blue .. it's a muted nothing. I do not like muted colours, I like plain, bold, shiny colours like a blood red, or a grass green or sunflower yellow .. but that it has the same colour as the "air fresh"-chewing gums in the purple wrapping. Sorry but I really really don't like the colour. And we have had those muted girly, just don't make a statement colours for yeras and it's getting harder and harder to find anything in nice solid sturdy, healthy colours.
(I think I will stop my rant here - I think you get what I think of the colour)

I like it! It's a great shade of green that will go with so many other colors. Very versatile.

I like it, but not sure if it would be a colour I would use in my quilts. I am collecting a stash of greens at the moment, but it is a different hue

It is a pretty colour but I prefer aqua! Thanks for the great giveaway and lovely blog.

JoyceLM said...

Green is my favorite color, so I love that Emerald was chosen by Pantone for 2013. It will be an interesting year. Thanks for the chance to win.

ELNM said...

I think it can be a pretty shade, and is probably pretty flattering to most people (for clothing). I think it's interesting to have a cooler, mellow choice this year after bold tangerine for 2012. I think I preferred tangerine! Thanks for the giveaway!

My birth stone is an emerald so I've always been partial to the color and one day, I hope to have a big fat emerald ring to wear! Maybe this is the year, with it being the color of the year and my ...cough, cough.. 40th birthday?

I like the emerald color, but I like all colors.

Laurel09 said...

I like that color, and I think it is difficult to find good "true" greens (not teal, or lime green, etc.), so I'm all for it. Don't quite know what makes it the color of the year, but hey, it's pretty!

Agnes Bullock said...

Not really a true emerald color, but it is more of a sea foamy and emerald mix. It is a lovely green albeit misnamed- would definitely use it, mixed with yellows and cobalt blues

CaroleM said...

Not a huge fan of Emerald, unless it's on a ring on my finger ha ha ha... but you know last year tangerine ended up being quite nice, so I suppose it depends on the content!

Anita said...

Since Emerald is the birthstone of May - and my birth month, I've always loved it. I have no qualms whatsoever with their choice. =)

Thanks for a chance to win.

Not particularly fond of it ... it's probably the last color i'd pick. Thanks for the giveaway.

Not really my favorite but I agree. Who gets that job?

Emerald is also my birthstone color. I like it, but have often wondered how they have the authority to pick the color of the year. If you find out let me know. ;) I don't think I could redec my house in emerald though.. although I like it, I'm not CRAZY about it.

I like the colour - but (maybe's it's just my monitor) it really doesn't appear Emerald to me...

Really, what does colour of the year mean, anyway? Not like suddenly everything is IT.

Thanks for the chance! I love Water!

don't like it...it is the same colour of green they used to paint hospitals

I guess it's an okay color, but it reminds me of a chalkboard. I was hoping for something a little more exciting and vibrant.

Thank you so much for the giveaway! I really love Pure Elements (and I had no idea your name was Joy, I just thought you were happy ;) but I'll never forget that when I'm browsing your shop now!)

Ok..emerald..don't like it, I think emerald should be deeper and more vibrant, but that shade looks dull and flat to me, I cant picture wanting to wear it or use it.

Nope, not jumping on the emerald bandwagon - doing my own thing.

I think that emerald goes beautifully with royal blue and/or purple!
